Before América. Original Sources in Modern Culture

Before América. Original Sources in Modern Culture seeks to visually reconstruct an ongoing historical process that has been taking place in the Americas, from Alaska to Patagonia, from the early nineteenth century until today: the reclamation and reinterpretation of the forms and symbols of ancient American civilizations and their descendant Indigenous cultures. The exhibition includes nearly 600 objects and documents of varied origins and diverse media, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, architectural designs, photographs, furniture, textiles, and ceramics, among other media.
